Lake Country Clean Waters Presents 7th Annual Healthy Lakes Conference

Friday, June 3, 2022

Pewaukee, Wisconsin - Lake Country Clean Waters (LCCW), in partnership with Tall Pines Conservancy and the Oconomowoc Watershed Protection Program, will host the 7th annual Healthy Lakes Conference on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Oconomowoc Community Center (OCC).  The OCC is located at 220 W. Wisconsin Avenue in the city of Oconomowoc. The event is made possible through the support of Gallagher Lake Country Real Estate. Anyone with an interest in improving the health and vitality of our local waterways is encouraged to attend.

According to Brad Steckart, Director of LCCW, “2022 marks 50 years since the Clean Water Act was passed.  We are excited to highlight some impressive projects in and around Lake Country that demonstrate how residents have dedicated themselves to the conservation of our rivers, lakes and streams,” he concluded.

The conference will begin at 9 am, and cover topics such as aquatic invasive species, road salt and our water, and the importance of native plants and healthy shorelines. At 2 pm, there will be a pontoon tour of Lac La Belle, which will include native and invasive plant species identification and showcase shoreline restoration projects. The conference will conclude around 3 pm.

Space for the Healthy Lakes Conference is limited and advance registration is strongly recommended.  The cost is $45 per person in advance and $65 the day of the event. Registration fee includes all programming, morning refreshments, lunch and optional afternoon lake tour. For more information and to register, please visit lakecountrycleanwaters.org.
